I will share mine.
My son had gone to Germany for a computer-related conference. He and the professor he traveled with took a side trip to Paris before returning home to California.
Then 9/11 happened. I remember his being stuck there because all flights to the US were cancelled. I know. Stuck in Paris. We should be so lucky, right? Anyway all efforts were being made to get him back home. The people at the inn in Paris where he was staying were very kind to him and very welcoming. But still he wanted to get back home to California. That was our main focus our main interest our main everything. Get him back home. Once home we can deal with whatever happens next.
Finally he was back home.
