They did not want a truthteller or intelligence or morality. None of that was or is important to them.
They wanted a tough guy daddy who would take care of them.
Well he is weak and frightened and inpotent and inept but he has shaken things up to the extent that they may never be the same again. So the adoring worhippers got half of what they wanted. Are they happy or just sappy?
