Do Americans living "abroad" who maintain US citizenship ever bother to vote? No skin off their noses right? Why should they vote?

For whatever reason they choose not to live in the United States of America. They have  left the country either temporarily or permanently and have not as yet become citizens of the country in which they live.

So for old time's sake should they vote? They no dog in the fight. What is in it for them?
