If you gather together in huge crowds because you want to do the same thing where is the harm?

I think possibly perhaps the supporters of the person who did not win thoroughly enjoyed gathering together in all kinds of weather just so they cheer and shout and clap. It wasn't for any purpose other than that.

An outing like having a picnic or attending a sporting event.

To have it end is not going to happen if it is up to them. Now they chant and cheer and holler about fraud and rigged and stolen.

Anything to stay together in bondage for a cause so they feel they BELONG to something bigger than they are and they don't have to go home and be all alone on their own without that support of a crowd on which they count and have depended for 4 years. Giving that up isn't easy so they won't.

Perhaps it is as simple as that. The point is staying together being together doing together. What for doesn't matter. What for isn't the draw..Anything to escape the solitude. Anything to belong to something no matter what. Anything is better than nothing which is what they are left with if they disband and move on. They are helpless and cannot do that.
