The lameduck loser has nothing else to do so he keeps doing what gets his peeps riled up so they come through with money.
If they didn't he'd figger out something else to occupy his time. As it is he only needs to make they "movies" about how he screw and poor him to get floods of money to keep tiding him over. So he will continue because it works.
