Why does bacteria/or a virus adapt so quickly year after year after year when it takes milleniums for homo saps to change?

Is it because bacteria/virus are SIMPLE while homo saps are very complex?

Or because homo saps are rigid inflexible and certain that how they are and what they is already perfect so why fix what ain't broke?

I dunno. Do you?

    Viruses adapt and move on.
If they hit a wall, they go around.
If something needs to be done for them to exist, they do it.
If they make a mistake, they learn from it so as not to repeat it.

    Humans are stubborn and lazy.
If they hit a wall, they sit down and complain (it's too high)
If something needs to be done for them to exist, they complain (it's inconvenient)
If they make a mistake, they won't admit it (I'm right; it's everyone else who's wrong).

So what you are saying in essence is that they are much smarter, they learn from their experiences and adapt. Humans kvetch moan groan and blame everyone but themselves. Our lot in life? Well the bozo trump surely is a perfect example of that. As are his adoring worshippers. Thank you for your reply Shuhak. Are we doomed to be what we are and whom we are or is there any hope we can change? :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 22, 2020 10:50 AM MST
