That is a very narrow limited restricted path some choose.

Don't bother them unless it matters to them and it doesn't matter to them if it doesn't affect them.

Selfish maybe? Uncivilized? Incurious? From whence cometh lack of curiosity about "the other"? Puzzling. Perplexing.
