How can that be? They live in a world of alternate reality...a funhouse if you will where the mirrors are all distorted to show what isn't...not what is. They dare not leave it. It is the only world they will ever inhabit from birth to death. They are WARNED and THREATENED early on that if they do venture out it will be the end of them. So they never do and thus they never know what reality is.
