It could be a carnation masquerading as a rose my friend. Do you really think what you see is what you get? Do yoy really believe people are who/what they say they are? That would mean that people don't lie or cheat or trick or betray one another. We both know people often do such things for their own purposes. Ideally if what you see is what you get then what you are saying is true. Have you ever heard of "bait and switch"? Or scams, cons? What they appear to be are not what they really are. I guess I am now beating a dead horse. Thank you for your reply. Did you understand my response to your response Andy?.
I can see what you are saying, Rosie. With me, what you see is most definitely what you get. I have no desire to lie, cheat, trick or betray others and when they do it to me they will see a side of me they won't like. I've always called a turnip a turnip, and it never fails to bewilder me when people have a go at me because I didn't pretend it was a tulip. Happy Wednesday, Rosie!:)
Apparently a spade is always or at least should always be called a spade, according to the late President Harry S. Truman. The reason why is that Harry Truman was known to practice "Plain Talking," the title of a book on the gentleman. "America's calling, Harry Truman! Harry, won't you please come home? Things are looking bad; I know you would be mad...to see the kind of men who prevail in the land you love..." (Chicago, Harry Truman)
