If I were to do something very harmful or hurtful to someone I would never expect to be forgiven. Why does anyone expect forgiveness?

If they INTENTIONALLY do harm they do not deserve being forgiven.

If it is unintentional or accidental no forgiveness is necessary.

So this whole business of forgiveness makes no sense. Sure they're real "sorry" when they're caught.

Maybe a few actually do regret feel bad but they deserve to feel that and deserve no forgiveness.

Why should I give forgiveness to someone who wrongs when I don't expect forgiveness when/if I do wrong?

Doesn't compute.
