Michelangelo was one of the first major artists to depict GOD THE FATHER on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Ever been there?

The 33rd Chapter of EXODUS states that no man shall look upon God and live.

So any and all depictions of GOD were forbidden.

Why the change?

I have been there. I'm still alive. We cannot depict someone whose description is unknown.

But we do it anyway don't we? And we do it in our image apparently. Because of course anything else would be unseemly. Thank you for your reply E! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 20, 2021 6:58 AM MDT
