Perhaps a mid-campaign diversion is a good thing. Trump spent one day celebrating/advertising a Washington, D.C. Trump hotel. Was it wise?

Apparently while it was being built/refurbished (it used to be a post office I think) Trump was accused of using undocumented workers and also of using materials that were imported from other countries. His defense was that he worked with Contractors and they were the ones who were guilty of using illegal workers not him. That may be true. But  was it wise to put a spotlight on a building that was already controversial this far along in a presidential campaign. What would cause him to do that at this time? The building opened for business a few weeks ago and  is not all booked up. Was it an attempt to get more business for it? What would you have done if you were Trump?  Why?
