"Prepare for COVID 19 booster shots." Wanna hear the bad news?

"It took just three months for antibodies to the virus's spike protein to wane by some 90%, meaning booster shots are likely on the horizon.

Three months? 90% reduction in antibodies in three months? So some of you are already beyond THAT bend.

No, it is not "bad" news. The decline in specific antibodies is normal and does not reduce protection typically until some years after the vaccination (such period of protection yet to be established for Covid-19) :

"25 Jun 2021 [...] In a peer-reviewed study published Wednesday [June 23, 2021] in the journal ACS Nano, UCLA researchers compared the immune responses of people who recovered from COVID-19 infections and then got the twoshot series, with those who never had COVID-19 and got the two-shot series. [...] antibody levels waned in both groups comparably to natural infection [...]"

Antibody decay (loss of specific antibodies) following recovery from illness or following vaccination, is normal in both those who have had the illness, and in those who have been vaccinated for an illness. and in the case of vaccination does not reduce protection typically until some years after the vaccination (such period of protection yet to be established for Covid-19):

The body keeps a small store of specific antibodies. When an infection it has previously encountered, is detected, the body makes more antibodies to that infection. It does not keep large amounts of specific antibodies when no illness is present.

On another point that seems to be vexing some people at the moment, very few vaccinations offer immunity to "infection". Most vaccinations are designed to provide protection against the Effects of infection.

We get infected by the same illnesses all the time; that is the whole point of having immunity (protection) against previous infection, which vaccinations are designed to mimic.

    (I am not a doctor.)

"Covid-19" is a viral infection which appears to have been identified in bats where it is called "SARS-CoV-2".
"Covid-19" appears to be defined by the respiratory illness caused by the virus.

(That definition does not seem quite adequate since those who are symptom-free are still diagnosed officially as positive for this infection where it is found in them by various types of tests, while also many found to be infected do not go on to suffer the respiratory illness.)

    See:

    And:

We can see how in 2020 the designation "COVID-19" had been anticipated to be the name given for the virus in humans, but since then, has apparently been designated instead as the name given to the disease caused by the virus:

[Heading:] "It’s been sequenced. It’s spread across borders. Now the new pneumonia-causing virus needs a name"

"The pneumonia-causing virus, which is spreading rapidly in China and beyond, is currently being identified as 2019-nCoV, shorthand for a novel or new (i.e. “n”) coronavirus (CoV) that was first detected in 2019. [...]"

    What does "COVID-19" mean?
    - - - - Start of extract: - - - -

"In choosing the name, WHO [World Health Organization] advisers focused simply on the type of virus that causes the disease. Co and Vi come from coronavirus, Tedros [Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization] explained, with D meaning disease and 19 standing for 2019, the year the first cases were seen."

Most vaccines are not designed to prevent infection but are designed to prevent serious symptoms. Research is still underway regarding whether the Coronavirus vaccines prevent infection:
