A man killed a gunman who had killed a policeman.
He unfortunately picked up the gunman's rifle and was holding it when a cop arrived on the scene and shot him dead.
SIGH.
The cop thought he was the bad guy. Why did that man pick up that rifle? Couldn't he foresee the possible consequences from appearances? The cop had no way of knowing. He sees a rifle in someone's hand and someone dead. What would YOU think?
I expect there's more out there somewhere as sad as this. Maybe sadder.
