Purebred dogs/cats are expensive and come with papers. No one "puts down" one of them. Shelter dogs/cats are cheap. Why not SAVE A LIFE?

The AKC (AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB) only registers PUREBREDS. They provide "Papers" for them to the owners.

A purebred Cat costs from $300-$1200
A purebred Dog costs on average $800 and if you want a working competing showdog it will cost you $1500.

The folks who get purebreds to show and compete aren't saving any lives. They are showing off bragging. Apparently they find it more fulfilling and enhances their status as being very wealthy and fastidious and selective nif they were to go to a shelter. STATUS is very important to the very wealthy. OBVIOUSLY.

Does your pet have papers? Do you work it/show it or just like having THE BEST as a pet for BRAGGING rights?
