  • Are you trying to imply that there was some kind of fairy-tale golden age when athletes were model citizens and politicians were of high moral fiber?   Hate to break it to ya' sister but politicians and athletes have always been prolly the two most corrupt and dirty groups of people. Ever.

  • That's thing though.   That's what they are now and ever were in the past.  Ideals.  Nothing more. Just ideals.  They have never been the reality of what is.  They have always been the ideal of what if.  To engage in e revisionist cloud that we once had that is living in denial and only makes the problem worse.  It's a form of acceptance and calling defeat.
