Well I'll tell ya. It was from the the ELITE UPPER CLASS SOCIALITES. They had a "dress code" for every occasion. They DECIDED that white light bright colors were appropriate ONLY IN SUMMER MONTHS so they"put away" the summer clothes after Labor Day and wore the other clothes until Memorial Day.
The elites made that stupid dumb rulen and like sheep other everyones used to follow it.
