Lack of imagination? Lack of understanding consequences of their actions? Plain old stupidity? They thought GOD was protecting all of them since GOD sent them FOOTOO according to them?
No they were NOT armed to kill. They had cell phones.
If they would have came in armed it would have been a bloodbath. But the only person shot by a firearm was an unarmed female veteran. Shot by a capital policeman (Byrd) who admitted: 1. Knowing police had barricaded the door on the other side 2. He could not hear the people on the other side. 3. He shouted commands (if he could hear them...why would he expect they could hear him?) 4. He could not see the victim's hands 5. He was worried about her backback.
Where was the deadly threat from Babbit to authorize use of deadly force by Officer Byrd?
Imagine the situation if any other officer shot someone who was unarmed and admitted they could not see the victim's hands....
