i got some silver bars recently because why not.

    No - but I have some silver coins that were gifted to me.
    I thought of buying silver or gold bars - but every place I found that sells them charges at least 2x what their current-value-per-ounce is.

    I am sure there are.   I bet there are cameras and is it known that trespassers with be shot on sight. I know, I would not be having one guy in my gold room by himself ever and cameras everywhere.
