Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's. Supposedly, Jesus, Himself, said this one. I may be wrong. I am paraphrasing, but the sentiment is there regarding a legal issue someone came to him with.
What that means to me is that we must obey the rules of our brothers and sisters, neighbors and friends and live in a society where Law is honored by each member. This can be done and not conflict with God's law. We are putting the good of others over our own personal agenda, and that is Good to God. Do not break the law. That does not mean you cannot take a stand and fight injust law, it means you do not do violence on behalf of your cause.
I dunno m'dear. How do you explain what Comrade Trump did to his 16 opponents during the Republican Primaries and what he has done/said to all those he insulted and what he has done for white supremacists/racists and what he has done to our country? How do you explain that he is getting away with all of that? I cannot. Thank you for your reply PeaPod and Happy Saturday to thee! :)
I always do play by the rules. However I don't compete CMI. The only person I compete with is me. Hopefully Rosie G is a better person now than she was 10 years ago. I do not believe in competition. It brings out the worst in people. They cheat and lie to win. I don't cheat/lie for any reason. Thank you for you reply and Happy Sataurday! :)
I play by the rules as long as the rules are not subject to change, because IMO changing the rules is in itself a form of cheating. Who is to say I'll finish last though? It may take a long time, but my honesty will triumph over the bad guys and their cheating ways in the long run. Happy Friday, Rosie!:)
I think it's okay for rules to change but not while you're playing the game and certainly never retroactively. That is unfair. Otherwise as long as you are apprised of the rules BEFORE you play I have no problem with changing them. If I don't like how they changed I simply won't play. Thank you for your reply AndyB and Happy Saturday to thee! :)
Your premise is correct. Good guys always finish last. People find the complexities of the bad boy/bad girl far more interesting and accordingly gravitate toward them. It took me a lot of years to understand the truth of that. Basically, I'm the guy who will adhere to the rules and "play fair" in the competitions of life. I rebel against it and regret that I can't seem to reinvent myself. Looking back over my life, it would have been far more fun and far more gratifying to have been a little badder.
The only reason I like to act like a "bad boy" is because I like women to treat me like one. I won't go into detail about that on here because it really belongs in the adult section, but I'm sure you know what I mean. From that, I assume that's also the main reason why others like playing the "bad boy/bad girl". If not, what other reason could there be?
Thank you for sparing me any detail of what you like about being thought to be a "bad" boy AndyB. It ain't my cuppa tea. Bad boys repel me. I have NeveR been interested in them for any reason. What does get my attention/admiration is a person's intellect, thoughtfulness, kindness. I'm a sap for that. But "bad"? Seriously? No way no how no time! Different strokes. Thank you for your reply AB and for the courtesy of saying no more about it. I'm onlt 79 and I have never been to the Adult section nor will I ever visit there.
At least you have the right attitude towards the Adult section, Rosie - if you don't like what you think you'll see there, don't go there. I wish everybody who doesn't like it had that attitude towards it instead of going out of their way to get it removed just because they personally find it distasteful, then when they get their own way bragging to my friends about it. The ones who do that will never make it onto my friends list. Those who have the sensible idea of not going there if they don't want to (such as yourself) are far more likely to earn my respect. Happy Saturday, Rosie!:)
Not for me Polk. Not if I were the same Rosie G I have always been. I have never been comfy trying to get around rules..ignoring them..pretzelizing them to suit me. As long as I know what they are I will comply with them or I won't play the game if I don't like them. I have never been drawn to the "bad boy". They repel me. I have never cheered for the bad guys to win which some do surprisingly. I don't lie. Not because I am a goody two-shoes but because the embarrassment of being caught in a lie would be so much worse for me than taking flak for saying what I think. Flak is way easier and you never have to look over your shoulder to see what might be gaining on you nor will truth ever humiliate you like being caught in a lie always will.. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)
