How do I fix this oven door/light problem?

On this oven, you‘ll notice I have the canning ring clamped from the oven door on the right to hold it ajar so keep the oven light off.
And you’ll see that the oven door with no canning ring on it is completely close made that light go/stay on:

    That is different for sure.  Do you have a light button on the controls to enable you to turn it off?

    Yes-the button that says 'LIGHT' on it-for the oven, but not if the oven is completely closed that when I try shut the light off by the button there. This post was edited by DannyPetti at January 19, 2024 7:56 AM MST
