Can you solve this?

Had surgery on dominate hand, unable to hold items to take the lid off jars and cat food using good hand.  Don't own a vice, need a DIY solution.  Any ideas?

    Sit down and hold the jar between your knees. Feed the cat dry food for a while. It will survive.
