I am neither an economist nor a tax expert and I fall under the $100M in assets and income threshold where this tax would kick in. Therefore, any opinion I might offer wouldn't mean much. I've heard pros and cons, but for me the question is: why can billionaires use unrealized gains as collateral for loans at favorable rates that they use to continue to build even more wealth, and then use the interest on those loans as a tax deduction?  Too complicated for me, but I'm sure we'll be hearing more.
