And on this taped cord, to glue around it, do I can use tacky glue, wood glue or hot glue gun?
Is it safe to use any of these glue on this taped cord?

That’s pretty well okay to just get that-new cord -
Do you know how much just the cord cost?

I just saw they advertise a really special phone cord-in an ad
would that be far more expensive than the phone cord that I’m using? This post was edited by DannyPetti at November 28, 2024 11:42 AM MST

I have no idea how much a phone cord is where you are.  I seems that continuing to try taping it together could ruin your phone at some point and that would be a whole lot more expensive to replace.

I see I'm not the only one who does this.

    - Use electrical tape, not packing tape (electrical tape will not slide).
    - Do NOT put glue on tape (it can get into the end and make the cord useless).
    - Make sure no frayed (unsheathed) wires touch whilst taping.

Looks like an apple cord.  $10 at Wal-Mart.
I don't know if Dollar Tree sells apple cords or not.
