Why do internet trolls, hate being trolled?

    Some are bullies, and bullies do not like being bullied themselves.

    Because they want to be in control. That's why not feeding the trolls is effective. Especially on a site where you are not allowed to call out trolling when you see it.

    Feeding them with sarcasm and LOLs can be effective, they tend to hate that.

    Maybe, but I tend to think any response gives them a reason to continue. Many times, they ask questions only so they can attack the answers. Using sarcasm and LOL isn't that different from their inflammatory posts.
