Majority Rule is ok in the House/Senate.Why not for prez?

  • Since we have two bodies of Congress. The Senate is to ensure each state has equal voice, while the House is meant to represent the citizen majority. That's why each state has two Senators and House Representatives are decided based on each states population size.
The bigger states wanted representation based on population size but the smaller states rightfully felt  they would be silenced and their interest nixed by the bigger states.   So they developed a solution.

    Hello Rosie:

Majority rule works in the House.. But, not in the Senate.  One side can filibuster and it takes 60 votes to override it... That's NOT a majority.  The president is the chief executive and a majority of one. He runs the federal government, makes foreign policy, and runs the military.

I screwed up the  question honey. What I mean is this... Republicans have a majority in the House and the Senate. They are elected by popular vote, right? So why is the election of the president any different?  I shall re-ask the question. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday exco! :)
