Discussion»Questions»Life and Society» Per an ignorant Answermugger.."there is no fool like an old fool". I beg to differ. The fool is the one who thinks age matters. Right?
Yeah, and if we voted for the most popular, neither of us would win.. But, I don't think you're here to be popular. I think you're here to state your case. Some people won't like that. Tell 'em to stick it in their ear.
Is seeking validation far removed from being here to be popular and doesn't name calling suggest some are here to do more than state their case but win it with popularity?

Oh honey you just did! Way better than me! You're right once again of course. Being popular ain't my cuppa tea. Being honest is. The ones who don't like that can go suck a rock! Thank you for your reply excon and Happy Monday! :) Didja see 60 minutes on Sunday night? PET starred. Comments?
Rosie, when I hear that phrase, I do not think of an old fool as being someone up in years. I think of someone who keeps making the same mistakes over and over and never learning the lessons life is trying to teach them. For me, an old fool could be anywhere between 20 to 110 years of age.
Touche sweetie! But remember I'm 79 so I guess I'm kinda sensitive about it. You are absotively/posilutely right! So noted Karen! Thank you for your reply! :)

Firstly I'm not a kid. Secondly, in my life I have only met one older person that in the.face on new.information has changed his her mind. Ever. Most older people I know, are so entrenched in their views as to make it almost an impossibility to have a constructive exchange of ideas. And I'm talking about people involved in Academia. So I'm sorry Rosie, but I'm going to have to be the odd one here. Yes there's not one of those like an old one. And as entrenched as I am getting to be, I have no doubt that will be the same myself.
All I said was everything matters. It can be argued that way. It can be argued that nothing matters.
It is a perspective. I think everything matters from my vantage point here in the physical.

Different strokes Lago. I asked. You answered. We disagree. So what? Thank you for your reply. I am 79. I have no idea how old you are but I will put my record of being an unfool against anyone including you and I will not come in second. So there. Happy Monday.
This saying simply means that since age is supposed to bring wisdom, then an old fool is worse than a young fool. An old fool should have learned better, a young fool is still learning.
It does NOT mean that old people are ALL fools.
I saw the post you refer to and your insulting and rude response. I think it is you who owes an apology. The answer mugger you refer to is neither ignorant nor a fool.
