Are you experiencing a deja-vu of 9/11?

I am. I guess after the let down of this election was one thing, but it wasn't all. The radio started playing one of the saddest songs played at the memorial service of 9/11. It was "Adagio for Strings", by Samuel Barber. It brought back the same experience I had after 9/11. It was on NPR, "The Prarie Home Companion". It was very, very sad. I wonder if any other people are experiencing such sadness today, if they have other reminders like I did.

  • Nothing, could be as bad as 911. That was just so devastating. Comparing this election to that is like a slap in the face to all who lost their lives on that day.

@Karen, the scientist Michio Kaku says an eerie feeling in new situations and induce illicit fragments of memory when you move into an environment we experienced with similar feelings.

I would guess it would depend of how people remember that experience. For me, the trigger was that sad music. Indeed, this situation is not like it. But that feeling was real to me. Thanks!

  • I still don't see how anyone can compare the two. They are nowhere near the same. 9/11 took the lives of thousands of people, your candidate not getting elected is nowhere in the same ballpark.

Just think, you have something to work for with the 2020 campaign beginning now.

Over 3000 people died on 911....an election loss is not comparable.  No one died (protests did take at least one life but still apples and steak in terms of comparison)

In terms of comparison for my feelings after an election, I have not felt like this afterwards since 1992 when I cast my first ever vote for Bill Clinton. Hopefully I get better results....lol

  • I feel this question is a BIG insult to the ones who died on 9/11
