PET won. When will Buyer's Remorse overtake him if it hasn't already? He could withdraw. The job might be too big for him don'tcha think?

He won't have lost. That is important to him. He also will get off the hot seat and won't have to perform the duties of president which are many and varied and some of them are undoubtedly  way beyond his comprehension/capabilities. He doesn't like to fail. Resigning/withdrawing isn't a sign of failure you see. It will be a choice he  made freely and willingly for the good of his family and his businesses and his business ties and his business associates. He can go back to living the good life having dodged a huge bullet. Of course there would be much rage and fury directed at him by those who voted for him but he has tons of money to buy as many bodyguards as he needs. It would be a tax write-off  if he ever were to pay any taxes.  It might occur to him to save face before he gets egg on it.
