A very astute Answermugger said that those who volunteer for positions of power should be the last ones granted it. Agree/dis/why?

 Just as is true of those who want jobs that allow them to carry loaded guns and legally kill people and get away with it should be the last ones granted that power/authority as well. Too many power-crazed hotdawgs out there. Sadly. :(

    It depends on the reason why they volunteer. If their reasons are benign, they should be granted the position. If they are corrupt, they shouldn't. It doesn't get any simpler than that. Happy Wednesday, Rosie!:)

    More often than not.   Those who actually want that position are usually authoritarian megalomaniacs.  People who think they know what is best for you better than you do.  Dangerous people with dark triad minds.   Government leaders shouldn't be allowed any privacy or allowed to feel comfortable.
