Russia is among those bombing Aleppo. The US does not want them to continue doing it. They continue to do it. Why?

We are told Russia is fighting ISIS. Their aim must be really lousy because they are killing many Syrian innocents and resistance fighters. The US wants Russia to stop the bombing. It won't. Who is right here? Russia or the US?
