Real Hunger Games....on TV. Would you watch?

In Russia, the Game2: Winter will be televised. Contestants may have a knife but no gun. No rules but says contestants are subject to the laws. They must survive from July-Apr in Siberia temps as low as -40°. If want to quit just push a rescue button on Sat phone.  Fans will be able to send gifts to their favorites just like in the movie. Winner gets $1.3 million.

While it is certainly a more extreme version of other shows where people are dropped off to survive in the wilderness, it is not akin to The Hunger Games, where the objective was to actually murder all other contestants.

You can brainwash people to think this is a way to FAME.   That is involuntary, but since there is no thought for the victim's well being or welfare,  it is murder to me, plain and simple.

    And that's entertainment.

I find this sick and a sign of the global times.  I read that this kind of activity would be popular ages ago.   I remember being appalled learning the way of Reality TV and the insane pathways it can take.

I read that we will eventually find this kind of thing and worse, entertainment.   When do we get to watch the executions?  That would be cool, no?

    Can we sink any lower?

  • Two things here.
One,  you sign up for that,   then you earned your Darwin Award.

Two,   it says all the blah, blah, blah and then they go on to say you are still under the rule of law.   So really, you aren't allowed to rape murder, yadda, yadda, yadda anymore than any other day of the year.   It's just reality TV style hype.

I meant because you would thrive on the challenge and are adept at outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, and innovative enough to overcome obstacles.  Learn to take a compliment, Glis.  :)

The comparison to "Hunger Games" is off by a country mile. The similarity is mainly in the gift giving to contestants viewers like.
