Is it possible to change the joystick calibration on a power wheelchair?

My mom just got a new power wheelchair and the joystick is super sensitive to direction. The slow speed isn't slow enough either. O_o I can't find anything that says how you can change the calibration, so it's not so sensitive, but there's no way she can drive the thing when it goes as fast as it does. Have any of you guys dealt with this?

  • There has to be.  I don't know for certain how, but there has to be a way.

I would contact the manufacturer. I most likely will require some hardware changes to less sensitive controls.

  • There should be through software ... But it's probably a specialised but of kit required to do so ... As someone else said check out the manufacturers web site for information first ... Good luck
