If there are no consequences for doing the wrong thing what is the incentive for doing the right thing?

Thus far PET is consequence-free despite his deceit/duplicity/disloyalty to our country. And he has only just begun. He has no reason to do right by us so why should he? He got elected being what he is. Enough people admire that. He will continue being what he is to the great detriment of the American people and those who support don't seem to give a rat's a** about any of it. He is stacking the deck so that no one will give him any lip about anything. All his previous adversaries have rolled over and fallen into line. He has no  opposition that can touch him. He is invincible. So we shall see how rotten a person he is because he knows there will be no substantive way to stop him. He owns everyone with power in this country. They will do his bidding or suffer the consequences. He is very good at having people who cross him suffer consequences. Who will cause him  to suffer any ever? HOW?

  • We don't always see the consequences straight away - but they do always occur. It's the Law of Cause and Effect.
Some take time to accumulate. Others are not always easily visible to the public eye.

In PET's case, it helps to remember that the constitution is written so that no one person has ultimate power and the length of time in power is limited. He will have many people in the background educating, advising, cautioning and restraining. And he is a person capable of rapid changes and compromises. I intensely dislike seeing the current trend towards more conservative governments around the western world but it is part of an historical pendulum. When the dissatisfaction reaches its peak, the pendulum will swing back towards the liberal left.

One thing the liberals can do is consider policies and ways to create real jobs for those who are having trouble finding work. If the Dems can do that, the Trumpists will lose their support base.
