Is Israel the poor cousin who lives on the wrong side of town on the other side of the railroad tracks that US finances? How did that start?

Will it ever end or is the US on the hook forever financially vis a vis Israel? Are we beholden to them for something? If so what?

What is the alternative? Outside of Israel the region HATES the U.S. The U.S does not have to do anything but practice a culture they believe is an abomination and for that everyone in the U.S must die. That or slavery. Israel is our troublesome ally.

    How did that start?

Well, immediately after WWII, the Allies shipped hundreds of thousands of European Jewish war refugees to the Levant, then basically sided with the Jewish side of the inevitable civil war that erupted.

In 1949, the UN recognized the nation-state of Israel and Israel has expanded its boundaries ever since.

Naturally, the Arab/Muslim people whose territory the European Jews took over (and their allies elsewhere in the Arab/Muslim world) are somewhat pissed off about that state of affairs.
