Is a government that slaughters its own people more evil than one that just slaughters strangers/foreigners? Why?

  • One of a government's first duties is to care for all its people.
The government that fails to do so deserves to be overthrown by popular revolution.

A government only has the right to kill foreigners if they attack its own national territory.

Coming to the aid of others abroad fits into a grey area because the circumstances vary so greatly, but no country should fight on another's territory without a direct request.

I believe America has a clause in its constitution which makes it "legal" to unilaterally attack foreign countries if a US business owns a patch of land abroad and if that business or land is attacked. Someone here more knowledgeable than me could probably say if this is true or not and quote the relevant clause. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 28, 2016 3:51 AM MST

Thank you for your thoughtful reply hartfire. Well I guess the US has business interests worldwide so that makes the entire world open to our invasion. What a scary thought!  :)
