I think they should resolve their issues.  Of course.   I think that Ireland should resolve its issues.  I think that India and Pakistan should resolve theirs.   The Irony is that it is all about God and God has no interest whatsoever.  That is the bad joke.   God doesn't care if you are Israeli or Palestinian.

I don't believe a "two-state" solution will ever be viable, unless the world is willing to provide Palestine MASSIVE military and political support to counteract Israel's dominance of whatever Palestinian state which might be created.

Imagine there is a Palestinian state tomorrow. Imagine that Israel annexes some of that nation-state's territory and starts building settlements on it. How does that differ from the current situation? Unless the Palestinian state is sufficiently strong to deter Israel from behaving as it does now, such a nation-state is pointless.

Ultimately, I see a "one-state" solution as the only option. My ***preferred*** one-state solution would be for the world to combine Israel and the Palestinian territories into Greater Secular Israel, with a UN peacekeeping force occupying GSI for 30 years to break the cycle of violence. A similar solution was employed on the island of Cyprus, where Greek-Turkish violence was intractable until UN peacekeepers stopped it.

I don't think the government of Israel will ever submit to such a proposal, nor do I think the world has the will to impose it. So, instead, I expect Israel will continue to incrementally expand until Palestinians either submit to being second-class citizens in Israel or emigrate elsewhere.
