I'm sure, can't imagine losing both mother and sister at the same time.

I'm missing something. Debbie Reynolds wasn't her mother:

However, Carrie Fisher was her half-sister.

Ops... That's right, Connie Stevens is Joely's mother.
Debbie did leave a son Todd. Her last words to him were, I miss Carrie so much I want to be with her.
    So sad!!

I find it a bit sad that she told Todd that she wanted to be with Carrie.  It's as though she was saying she didn't love him enough to live for.

Yeah I thought the same thing.  It makes you wonder if Carrie was her favorite or just a bigger celebrity.
That's if all she wrote in Postcards From the Edge is true.
Then you wonder if she didn't want to be upstaged. Crazy. This post was edited by Mizbella at December 31, 2016 7:45 AM MST

How sad.  She was a great person and entertainer.  She will be missed.  RIP Debbie.

It's such a shock to have both mother and daughter die like that!  So sad!

I didn't know she would pass but I wondered if she would.  Losing a child is unthinkable at any age but at 84 much more difficult to handle. She was quite a role model when young and such a great entertainer.  Her contribution to the world was very positive.  Those whose lives she touched were very lucky.

I'd hate to sound cold-hearted, but it doesn't affect me. However, it's a very unfortunate turn of events.

To be honest, there's no coping required.  The drugs and lifestyle that Carrie Fisher chose was probably what caused her early demise and her mother likely died of stress caused by the loss of her child.  Stuff happens.
