Didn't Tillerson lie in the confirmation hearings? He said Exxon did not lobby against Russian Sanctions when documents showed it did. So?

If he were ignorant about the activities of Russia/Exxon why would he get the "friendship medal" pinned on his chest by Putin himself and why would Exxon have rights to drill over 63 million acres in Russia which rights are frozen due to US sanctions on Russia. Isn't lying in the hearing grounds for replacing Tillerson?

Yes, he lied and it is grounds for perjury charges, at a minimum. I doubt if it happens, though. I'm afraid we're likely entering an era in which government officials are allowed to do nearly anything they please without fear of repercussions. Frightening times.

    Hello Rosie:

But, he LOOKS like a Secretary of State..  So, for that reason, and that reason alone, he'll be confirmed..

He doesn't sound the part. He was kinda twangy and not very erudite. He kept saying "I don't know. I don't know. I don't know". Saying what he thought he would not do presumably because that would go against the dictates of the Casting Director's wishes! And so it goes! But PET books people for actor's roles because of how they look. I remember reading that. All ya gotta do is look the part. Doing it? Who cares about that? Appearance is everything isn't it? Thank you for your reply excon and Happy Thursday! :)
