    To retrieve something and bring it back to the requestor.  "Go fetch" - throwing a stick and commanding a dog to retrieve it and bring it back.  "Please fetch my coat."  Asking someone to get your coat and bring it to  you.

    For the dog, perhaps.  It shouldn't take any training at all for a person. :)
