Actually, the modern trend is going back to traditional names.  The last  babies that I know personally were named Mary Elizabeth,  Elliott Daniel, and Marcus Parker.  This post was edited by Thriftymaid at January 28, 2017 3:12 AM MST

  • The pendulum does tend to swing back and forth. I hadn't realised that it had started to swing yet. Certainly my great grandkids are still on the outswing.

  • I've seen some funky names that's for sure! People are also spelling names differently. My favorite name for a boy, why Robert of course! My favorite girl name, mine! ;)

  • It's good to be happy with your own name. Not everybody is. Mrs Didge's first name bugged her so much (it was strange) that she had it officially changed about 40 years back. The new name (part of the original) suits her much better.
