Hi Rosie. If you ever saw the BBC series, "Yes Prime Minister", you will know that whenever they wanted to stop the PM doing anything they would tell him it was a courageous decision. Always worked, because "courageous" meant that he would antagonise voters and lose their votes. Politicians have always been like that -- they scheme and lie and break their promises as soon as it seems they might get bad press or lose votes.
BTW Maggie Thatcher made it known to the producers of that show that she would like to make an appearance. They accepted, gladly, but went off in a huff when they failed to treat her like royalty but *gasp* made her the butt of some of their jokes.
You are not a fan of Thatcher. I can tell. No I didn't see the series Didge although we do get a lot of foreign-made TV shows but they are often shown on HBO or some other premium cable channel to which we don't subscribe. Eventually though some do find their way to regular cable so I will keep a watch out for it. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :)
