Not at all. SNL is a sketch comedy and variety show. The show presents comedy sketches, using parody parodying what's up in the time inside culture and politics. The best actor/performer will play the role, gender isn't taken into consideration.

Somehow I think The Donald would be even more infuriated if his nemesis were to portray him. The Donald is very unsure of his masculinity..very defensive of his small hands (with the implication being that other parts on him are small too) and tries to be a tough guy to cover up his lack of macho. Am I certain? Of course not. He might not be any angrier at Rosie than he is at Alec. Thank you for your reply SH and Happy Monday! :)

I don't care what Donald Trump thinks about it. I replied your question as in generic although knowing what you're referring to. His issues should be visible to most people who aren't illusionist about his mental state. As genre, it doesn't matter what the sex of the actor is in a sketch/parody. And him taking it the way he does about Sean Spicer is only showing it even more. He doesn't even understand the most basic things about the genre. Btw, I posted the sketch inside the video section here. It's a really well-played sketch. Happy Monday to you Rosie.

You're probably more sophisticated about these things SH than I am. I am VERY conscious of gender and when a woman plays a man it always gets in the way for me. Different strokes . I'd rather have a woman portray me than a man. If a woman portrayed my Jim I would be offended. So you see we see things differently. So what, Right? I realize that way back when in the olden days in China men portrayed women. That was part of the culture. That isn't part of the American theater/movie/TV culture to my knowledge. I wouldn't accept a man playing "Lara Croft, Tomb Raider" nor would I accept a woman playing Han Solo in Star Wars. It would get in the way.  I just beat a dead horse didn't I? Apologies. I'm talking about this specific genre, and it will imply for the American culture too. I've read, and seen background articles on this specific subject. It's an art of expression; the impersonation goes over the gender of an actor.

No need to apologize, and I'm not sure about your sophisticated remark but this is in my honest opinion blown way out of proportion. One of the reasons will be because of Trumps reaction on the SNL sketch. Just shows his sexism once again. Pfft.

I just hope people over there are getting themselves ready and mobilized for mid-term already now, to have some of the insanity to stop. Meanwhile it's a free-ride on the roller coaster. One i could easily have been without but unfortunately this was the outcome of your elections over there. We all have to suffer with the consequences and unfortunately also the right wingers getting enforced in Europe. We got some crucial elections ahead of us, France first and later this year Germany. I am worried by how the outcome might be. Meh.

Well sweetie I have apologized to y'all more than once about this monstrous outcome and Fascist Dictator we have unleashed upon the world. Of course I did not vote for him but plenty of folks did. He came in second and that will haunt him till the day he dies. He will continue making up lies to justify his loss by saying if all the votes were on the up and up he would have won the popular vote too by a landslide. What a crock! :(. Voter fraud my a**! Such lies from the master of lying liars. His worshippers believe him. They'd rather believe his lies than anyone else's truth. Go figger! :(

All that doesn't matter any longer. It's too late and won't be changed. Mid-terms are crucial. You guys should be focusing on this. And I'm pretty sure there are at lot following him to have him impeached. Not that I am so sure that his replacement would be any better. Oomph.

You personally, have no need to apologize to me, or anyone else as I see it.
