The difference is we would laugh at Alec. He is funny as he**. I find nothing remotely humorous about the clown in that office currently. He is a very scary clown. I do not laugh. I cringe in embarrassment and fear what comes next. It's only a few weeks in and I'm already sick and tied of him and his cohorts. Hundreds of weeks more? Seriously. I'll pass on that. Happy Friday back at ya Rosie. I think you would find Baldwin as objectionable as Trump (albeit for different reasons). Right now he is funny because he has scripts written for him by comedy writers. He's as much a spoiled nasty individual as our current Prez, with even less knowledge about the world around him.
I do remember his history. I do remember when he and his then-wife Kim Basinger broke up. He called the house and talked to their daughter Ireland and went into a crazy vituperative rant against his daughter for which there was no excuse. But I think ANYONE is better than what we have at present. I'm not kidding. What we've seen thus far is just the tip of very big, deep, nasty iceberg. What's to come will not be pleasant. How much damage he will have done before he is struck down and removed from office I cannot guess. I expect the worst. Thank you for your additional comment m'dear! Time will tell. We shall see. SIGH
And you think Trump is better qualified??? That Trump is not an even bigger nitwit???? A rich nob business man who inherited his way into business, who's had more law suits against him and failed ventures than most have had hot dinners and who's filed for bankruptcy at least once? A man who clearly got where he is by bullying and being up his own a******
Oh and I forgot a man who has no class and who has offended just about every country there is including, tellingly, the closest neighbours. It's telling, is it not that the Canadian PM thinks he's an idiot, the Mexican one thinks he is... and most of the rest of the world does...

Do I think that Trump is better qualified than Alec Baldwin well yes I do. I also remember that horrible phone call to his daughter, I can only think he was drunk or had been smoking the loco weed because nobody should ever call their children names like that.
As far as Trump goes I can say that so far he has not done anything so objectionable and completely undiplomatic as Obama's visit to Britain to tell the people how to vote in the Brexit referendum, not only is he not part of the EU and had no business sticking his snoot into our business but he then went on to threaten us, THREATEN the people of Britain that if we did not vote as he wanted we would "go to the back of the queue" when it came to trade. I'm not asking you which way you voted but I don't believe there was a single person who was not outraged that he had interfered and then told us we would suffer economically if we didn't go along with his wishes.
So far Trump hasn't topped that one. I'm not saying he won't, he's got a big mouth and often opens it and just lets the wind flap his tongue around but Obama made a huge diplomatic mistake when he got involved in that one and yes I do remember one of the nicer words people used about him was "idiot".

I do think Trump is scary, he's impulsive and just says what he thinks without giving thought to the fallout that might occur. I'm not a Trump supporter please understand that, I would never have voted for him but I do think that by his own words he promised a different kind of Presidency then people should just sit back and see what happens, he's being bashed by the media but then I lost confidence in the media long ago. I'll be surprised if he lasts a year. In the meantime I'm stocking up on loo rolls, baked beans and candles just in case he starts WWIII.
I do support his ban on immigrants from certain countries, although it was poorly thought out and implemented. Seeing the chaos that is now Europe and the UK he's absolutely right on that one.
Thank you for your thoughtful reply Yogafan. Trump is in way over his head. He brings nothing substantive to the job of president in my opinion. He is whiny, needy, vindictive, self-centered, and lies all the time even when it doesn't matter. He talks in circles constantly contradicting himself and he is completely unaware of it or is aware and doesn't give a rat's a**. The fact that his worshippers stick by him and defend him every day no matter what is staggering to me. He was elected because what he sold was fear and the folks bought it. "Be afraid! Stay afraid! I will protect you". That is such bullsh** but he sold enough folks on it that he got the job. Condolences to the world for that. I see no redeeming value there anywhere. He is not reclaimable/teachable/useful. He has not changed at all since he first took to the campaign trail. He cannot pivot. He is addicted to Twitter, the spotlight, lies and attention. He doesn't care how he gets the attention as long as he has it. He keeps reliving the past and tries to change it. A very sad human being in a job much much much too big for him. SIGH By the time he is ousted however/whenever that occurs I just hope the damage he has done to our country and the world is fixable, repairable and not permanent.
