Do you ever ask yes/no questions?

I once interviewed a woman on community radio and she answered every question either Yes, or No. I learned that morning to ask questions that needed a more detailed response. How do you feel about yes/no answers? Do you try to avoid them?

I know, I know, I've led with my chin because this can be answered like that, UNLESS you read the extra information.

  • Personally I think yes or no questions are best made as polls.

  • You might enjoy reading "The City of Yes and the City of No" by Yevgeny Yevtushenko. It's a brilliant poem about positive and negative attitudes.
