Here's the answer to the BIGGER question you're not asking.
Now, I'm NOT a scientist, but I CAN add. I've also done a bit of gambling, so I understand odds.. Given that there are MORE stars in just our own galaxy, than there are grains of sand on EVERY beach in the entire world, AND that there are MORE galaxies in the Universe than there are grains of sand on every single one of these beaches, ONE would have to believe in a TRILLION BILLION to ONE long shot for terrestrial life. I wouldn't take that bet.
