Your question is more difficult than it appears...Germany being cobbled together of such strong regional cultures...

When I grew up in Washington State logging country of the 1950's, many people were second generation from the Old Country, mostly Scandinavian but others like Germany too. Food was a big part of every celebration, and I do remember sauerbraten, sauerkraut, and so on...
I do, but the name (Fahrvergnügen) didn't register until I looked it up.
An advertising slogan used by the German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen in a 1990 U.S. ad campaign that included a stick figure driving a Volkswagen car. "Fahrvergnügen" means "driving enjoyment" in English (from fahren, "to drive," and Vergnügen, "enjoyment").
