Were the German people proud of Hitler or only the Nazis? Are the Russians proud of Putin? Anyone proud of Trump other than his worshippers?

    There are no worshippers, only voters. The same was true with Hillary. Why is it so hard for you to accept that folks simply made a choice and voted for one or the other - there was nothing deeper or more sinister than that.

  • Wellllllllllllllllll butting in as usual here.. they *do* seem a bit divorced from reality to me... like they hear facts and truth but cannot seem to accept it.. sometimes don't even acknowledge it... it's as if even truth cannot touch or tarnish his image in their eyes..  it does almost seem as if they worship him.. it has that same dogma element... just saying.. and saying as a dispassionate observer.. I do find it a very strange phenomenon.

    You say "they" as if to imply that all Trump voters are alike. Not what I would call open-minded - actually kind of prejudiced.

    Not prejudice. I try foods. I either like them or don't that is not a prejudice.
    Prejudice is a prejudgement usually before any evidence.

    I take your word for it Stu. I shall never understand it. But I take your word for it. When you encounter something very puzzling don't YOU try to solve it? That is how my brain is wired. i know it annoys many people. Not my problem. I will continue asking why. Not to annoy you but because maybe one day someone can answer it satisfactorily to me and I will then be able to move on. Not until then.     I was born right after WWII.....never knew a German who was proud of Hitler.  Lord, they hated the sound of his name. I don't know any Russians....Russian-Americans, but they hold no love for Putin.

    Trump?  Wouldn't you have to be proud of someone you worshiped?  And if you weren't proud of him how could you worship what you are ashamed of??

  • All three persons mentioned have supporters and detractors.  It is unlikely an entire nation is ever collectively proud of its leader. It would depend if the one being asked as benefited or lost under a given leader.  Many officers benefited by Hitler's rule and would have supported him as history has shown. Others fought and died trying to end his leadership.

    I am not a President Trump worshiper. As you know I vote by policy not personality.
