The next 100 years will make or break. If we get past we are here for the long run. Ever wonder why space is so silent? Might not have so much to do with sound.

What with The Donald reversing all environmental rules/regs we have no protection against the poisoning of earth/air/water. Thank you for your reply O! :)
The status quo is unsustainable, taking account of our poor use of land, water and befoulment of the air, the threat is obvious. Another species of life goes extinct almost daily. The stresses we place on the natural world are spiraling out of control.
Given the current landscape, it is likely some catastrophic famine or pandemic (spread by easy international travel, and immune to current antibiotics) may break out in the next few decades.
Outside of a single extinction level event, the everchanging climate will determine whether the planet becomes uninhabitable. It is virtually inarguable that we humans are accelerating that timetable. Absent a sea change in our relationship with the earth, we might estimate our future in terms of only a couple of centuries, though pockets of isolated, self-sufficient groups (like the Inuit) may endure longer.
