Do you depend on Mother almost as much now as when you were a baby?

The financial umbilical cord yet to be cut?

  • Nope! I'm 25 and live on my own and have a full-time job in academia. My parents wouldn't hesitate to loan me money if I needed it, but I don't depend on them anymore. I still visit my mommy as much as possible though :)

Yes. To clarify, my mom had a stroke and I'm her guardian, so that may help shed some light on my answer and her mothering. lol

No.  My mom has dementia and is in a nursing home.  At this point, she has no idea who I am (or who she is).

No.  My mother died 13 days after I turned 17.  I haven't had a mom since 1971, except for the World's Best Mother-in-law, who has also passed on.

No.  I went to work after high school and she made me pay rent and board.  I took classes at night.   I didn't mind because that is what people did then............we grew up.  A year later I married.  From that point she somewhat depended on me.  Family.  I love her and am trying to get her to agree to assisted living in my state.  She is resisting.  Of course she is!

I'm in a situation where we both need each other financially and emotionally to a degree.
